Generational Change at Protac A/S
As of 1st April 2022, owner and managing director of Protac A/S, Pia Riishøj Christiansen, will transfer the majority of shares and the role as managing director to Natascha Sandberg Hytting.
Since 1994, the Danish company Protac A/S has had the leading role in the development, production and distribution of unique sensory stimulation products serving the needs of persons with physical disabilities and sensory impairments. Founder and occupational therapist Pia Riishøj Christiansen will sell the majority of shares, after 28 years to Natascha Sandberg Hytting in a process of generational change. At the same time, Natascha will take over the position as CEO. Natascha comes from a position as Senior Commercial Director at Pressalit A/S.
Natascha Sandberg Hytting is a well-known face at Protac A/S, where she has been a member of the company's board of directors for the past 8 years. The choice of Natascha Sandberg Hytting to continue developing Protac's strong values and high focus on social responsibility, is according to Pia Riishøj Christiansen, a perfect match. Natascha already has a profound knowledge of the company and its focus on professionalism in the field of sensory integration theory and experience in occupational therapy and physiotherapy. With Natascha as CEO, Protac will also benefit from her management and professional skills just as Protac's partners and the dedicated employees will benefit from the new structure.
Founder and former owner, occupational therapist Pia Riishøj Christiansen says: "I have been on an amazing journey with Protac. It all began with the Protac Ball Blanket® and since then we have developed a range of products helping people in their daily lives. I am proud that Protac has become widely recognized for well-designed quality products among users and therapists. The development of the products is based on professional knowledge and supported by research-based evidence. I am very pleased that Natascha after 8 years as member of the board, will lead Protac into the future together with our committed employees. It has also been important to me that Protac remains an independent Danish company in a time with many international acquisitions within our industry."
Natascha says: "I am truly looking forward to further developing the company with values that very much reflect my own. With a high-quality product range and a professional organisation, Protac has created a strong position in Denmark. I look forward to using my background in export and assistive technology to further develop the potential of Protac so that even more people can benefit from Protac's products both in Denmark and abroad." Over the years, Protac has developed a wide range of sensory stimulating products and today has 15 employees. Protac exports to 17 countries.
Pia will continue working for Protac for the next six months to ensure a successful transfer. After this, Pia will continue as minority owner and member of Protac's board of directors. The headquarter of Protac remains in Skanderborg in Denmark.
